I decided to do this because I found a load of lipsticks that were either:
• Melted, squished or deformed
• Horrendous colours hardly appropriate for a teenager
• I just didn't use them any more as I had much better ones
I came up with this simple DIY to turn them into something I could actually use.
I have a couple of pictures of the finished product at the bottom of the page.
You will need:
• Tealight (you can use a scented candle and be all fancy)
• Matches
• Knife (a butter knife will do, no super sharp weapons necessary)
• Pot or empty makeup compact
• Large spoon
• Various old, 'useless' lipsticks
How to make it:
1) Cut the lipsticks off the tubes. Use the toothpick to get out every last bit.
2) Put one colour at a time into the spoon and melt it over the tealight.
3) Pour the melted lipstick into the compact or pot. I used the empty container from my first ever powder which I used for about a month and then sat unwanted at the bottom on my makeup drawer as I discovered better ones. It was £1 from MUA because I was classy back then.
4) Repeat with the other lipsticks. You can experiment with dripping the lipsticks to make nice patterns. I used 6 but if you have 1 you can still do this.
5) Let your new cream blush set solid. Now you can use it.
TIP: You can use a lip brush and apply it as a lip stick/gloss/colour/idontevenknow
If you want to be all fancy you can decorate the container. I used some cute stickers from paperchase. I love that shop.
